About the artist — Marie de Saint Germain

Marie de Saint Germain is a self-taught French visual artist whose deeply dreamlike and symbolic work explores the labyrinths of identity, the tensions of the mind, and the blurred boundaries of memory.

Working with mixed media, including paper, acrylic paint, and ink, she creates evocative, unsettling images that inhabit the space between dreaming and waking. Her visual world is populated by fragmented figures, suspended gazes, and bodies in metamorphosis, exploring the invisible, the buried, and what endures despite fracture. Moving between appearance and disappearance, her work unfolds as a form of visceral poetry, where the visible trembles and the intimate encounters the strange.
